The HHH Mixtape - Applications Open

Coming fresh off the beautiful disaster that was the HipHopHeads 2021 Cypher, I have decided to curate the first ever HipHopHeads mixtape. Think of it like the ROTD sessions, except instead of being summoned to J. Cole's studio, we're all meeting up in some greasy dude's basement.

Here's how it's going to work. I'm looking for talented rappers, producers, and engineers to volunteer their efforts and help put this thing together. I've created a quick application for everyone to fill out, regardless of what type of role you want to take in the project. If you have any previous musical experience, please link your work in the application! The goal is to create a high-quality tape, so it's important to provide a sample of your talents.

Applications will be open until further notice, as the size of the project will depend on the amount of interest it receives. Nobody should feel discouraged to apply – this is going to be a lot of fun, and I will work hard to find a role for everyone who shows interest and puts effort into their work.

As applications come in, I will create a community to keep everyone in contact and decide which users fit best on particular tracks. I haven't decided on a platform for this community yet (once again, this depends on the level of interest), but just know that I will be in close, frequent contact with the group throughout the process. I'm planning to hop on a few tracks myself to get the ball rolling.

So this is Stage 1. Feel free to send in the most ridiculous shit you've got – we want to see what kind of potential we have here. This will not be another lame user-created project! I will invest my own money, blood, sweat, and tears to get this thing off the ground. In this episode El-P tells the story of the LP that serves as the origin of Run The Jewels. in 2012 Williams Street Records (part of Adult Swim) paired El with Killer Mike to produce an album.
