If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: "I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye production" (you can get more specific but usually enough). And then someone will respond with recommendations X, Y, and Z.

You can also leave a top level comment recommending an artist/project/scene that you think others might like if they like X, Y, and Z.

Example: "You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats"

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

The more descriptive you guys are with your posts, the easier it is to help you find what you want. Just stating an artist's name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

Spaceghostpurpp - Blackland Radio 66.6 (10 Years later)

Posted: 30 Apr 2021 11:54 PM PDT

Blackland Radio 66.6, stylized as BLVCKLVND RVDIX 66.6 (1991) is a mixtape by American rapper SpaceGhostPurrp. It was self-released on May 1, 2011, and released in February 2017, by Yeah We On Entertainment. The majority of the mixtape is self-produced. It features guest production and vocals from Lil Ugly Mane, Main Attrakionz, Supa Sortahuman, and J.K. the Reaper. The artwork was created by Lil Ugly Mane and Chino Amobi.

The mixtape pays homage to the hip hop scene of the 1990s. One of the influences for the album is the hip hop group Three 6 Mafia, which can be heard in the song "Pheel tha Phonk 1990", and on its cover which was based on the classical Memphis Pen and Pixel style of covers. It features chopped and screwed vocals in some tracks along with game and movie samples such as Mortal Kombat screams and Godzilla sound effects which creates an experimental ambience throughout the mixtape. Themes on this Mixtape stem from sex to drug abuse, while doing so, over Lo-Fi, trap instrumentals. Spaceghostpurrp uses Southern Slang throughout the whole album while using extremely vulgar lyrics.

What's your thoughts on this Tape 10 years later? For me it took ages to enjoy this tape but a lot of the songs I'm still listening to this day. What's the best song in your opinion off it?
