Hi Reddit! My name is Greazy Wil and I am an engineer, mixer and producer in Los Angeles. For the past ten years my clientele have been the A listers of rap and rock. A lot of this has been because I happened to be in the right place at the right time when 10 years ago I was asked to assist on a session for an mostly unknown artist named Frank Ocean. Since then I have used that as a resume of sorts to weasel my way onto some of the most iconic albums of the last decade. I've spent months with Jay-Z and NoID while they worked on 4:44 and I was working on Vic Mensa's first album. I worked on the sessions for Justin Timberlake's 20/20 experience with Timbaland and JT. I've worked with Pharrell multiple times with various artists. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to work with so many of my own personal heroes but make no mistake, I've worked extremely hard to get here as well.

Last year, at the beginning of the pandemic, an artist reached out to me from somewhere in the Midwest and sent me his songs. He couldn't afford to work with me but I saw his potential and so I worked with him anyway and last August we released his first song, which has already hit over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. His second single premiered on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe yesterday. I'm so very proud of all the work he's done but also, this is exciting for me because since I got to the top I haven't gotten the opportunity to see the beginning of a career happen nearly as much.

So today, in honor and promotion of his release, I thought I would come here and answer your hip hop head questions. There are many artists on my list that value their privacy a lot (I.e. zdlr and ) and in honor of that I will not be answering any questions that violate their privacy but any other questions are fully welcome and I will answer as many of them as I can. I'll be here from 1PM PST until PM but I'll check back and answer more questions throughout the day.
