I'm J Money and just released a song with T.I. and Lil Flip. Ask Me Anything Posted: 19 Feb 2021 05:14 PM PST Listen on Youtube - J Money, Lil Flip, TI - Shells.com Proof: https://imgur.com/a/9wP6VQZ https://preview.redd.it/ebxztlqf0ji61.jpg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9bfbf137109d28c80512f5828c92bc33ba9180d Lil Flip | T.I. | J Money Pimp C would be proud. If you were a HipHopHead in the mid-2000s -- you experienced an incredible time for Country Rap Tunes. Bangers were slow and syrupy out of Houston & fast and trappy out of Atlanta. Two artists that were flying high were T.I. & Lil' Flip. One can do research on the decade-long feud between the hip-hop powerhouses, but in short: the two have decided to put that beef in the past & move on. Fast forward to 2021 -- Atlanta-based artist & Sauce God, J Money tasked by #KingLee, approached both T.I & Lil' Flip to collaborate for the cause to spread the word about the new Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering, Shells.com What's poppin' J Money tells the story of how he brought up that Lil' Flip was going to be the third verse on the track. T.I. said that if the collaboration would better the community -- he was as all-in. Just a week ago, from the Foreign Global label, J Money's Shells.com featuring T.I. & Lil' Flip was released. In the song the trio plug the Shells.com app, which allows for users to access a high-powered computer from any one of their web-enabled devices. With a Shells™ account -- the user can produce, edit, and launch music from anywhere. Shells™ aims to support upcoming & aspiring artists as they do their work from the device in their pocket. Jam this new track and support the artists! iTunes | Spotify As Pimp C said in Knockin' Doors Down "I'm down wit' Lil' Flip. I'm down with T.I.P. if them (expletive) come together, know how much paper we could see?" Let's not let Pimp C down! submitted by /u/saucegod_Jmoney [link] [comments] |
Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce from Kanye West Posted: 19 Feb 2021 12:29 PM PST https://www.tmz.com/2021/02/19/kim-kardashian-kanye-west-file-for-divorce/ Kim Kardashian has filed to divorce Kanye West after 7 years of marriage, but our sources say it's as amicable as a divorce can be. Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's 4 kids. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Kanye is fine with the joint custody arrangement, and we're told both Kim and Ye are committed to co-parenting together. There's a prenup and we're told neither party is contesting it. In fact, our sources say they are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement. The docs, filed by disso queen Laura Wasser, don't list a date of separation ... it's listed as to be determined. The date is almost irrelevant, because their split has been so well-chronicled in the news and social media. It was during the last half of 2020 when things got super rocky for Kimye ... West launched his Presidential campaign on July 4 and weeks later held a bizarre campaign event in South Carolina. At one point, a sobbing Kanye told a story of a discussion he had with Kim ... talking about abortion when she was pregnant with their first child. It wasn't long after that when Kanye took a series of shots at the Kardashian/Jenner family on Twitter, at one point referring to matriarch, Kris Jenner, as "Kris Jong Un." Multiple sources with direct knowledge told us Kim was ready to call it quits after Kanye's outbursts, if not for Kanye going through a serious bipolar episode. She had felt it would be cruel to end the marriage when he wasn't doing well. Things got so rocky, the couple had been living separately for a few months. He was spending a lot of his time in Wyoming while she was in Calabasas with the kids. The issue? We were told it wasn't contentious or ugly ... but their differences in lifestyle and politics were chief, among others. submitted by /u/axwell1997 [link] [comments] |

What are the differences between a so-called “industry plant” and a rapper who’s label is doing their job by properly pushing them? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 11:36 AM PST The term "industry plant" is thrown around a lot on this sub & across the internet, usually to describe artists who have seemingly come out of nowhere & are now getting a big push by their label/the music industry. There are three definitions for "industry plant" on Urban Dictionary (not the best source, I realize): (the top definition): "An industry plant is an artist who has Major/Indie Label backing their movement but presents themselves as a "home grown start up" label to create a pseudo organic following. They act as if things are miraculously happening for them based on their talent (via blog coverage, media coverage, mtv playing their vids, etc.) The reality is a low risk/high reward situation for labels looking to build the next 'new star'" "A rapper or an aspiring rapper who's being influenced by a label or company to write and preform music in a trendy way in order to gain clout (popularity)" "successful new artist who got people mad because their label and management is doing a good job" Now, if you go by the last definition, you could argue that the term means nothing & industry plants don't exist. I don't necessarily agree with that, which is why I'm posing the initial question. I'd also argue that the top definition, which says industry plants are artists who pretend to be homegrown but aren't, doesn't accurately describe a lot of the artists I personally see being accused of being plants, however creating an artificial come up story is definitely a thing that happens & that's something to consider. One last thing: this post from Pigs & Planes posing the question "What is an industry plant?" has a very interesting quote from the Former CCO of Complex/EVP of Def Jam Recordings. "Using examples like Nas and Big L, Callahan-Bever points out that in the past, fans rarely knew about an artist before they signed to a label. Getting covered in mainstream media would be their first exposure to the public, despite often putting in years of work behind the scenes. Back then, he says, there was more trust in industry gatekeepers, so few people viewed the sudden emergence of a previously unheralded act as something nefarious. "Before you had the internet, it almost always felt like artists 'came out of nowhere' and then were down with this person or that person and had big connections," he says. "All of a sudden they're in The Source every month for three months in a row. But unless you were super plugged into the industry, it was always like, 'Who is this new person? The Source is telling me that this is the new most important MC from Harlem.'" submitted by /u/tritso [link] [comments] |

Very good hip-hop show/mix. Any others? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:46 PM PST I'm currently listening to a very good show/mix by DJ Blueprint. He is on the Streetbeat show and mixes every other Friday. The current mix has the playlist uploaded. You can listen to the shows from the past two weeks, as well. Definitely worth checking out. https://www.kunm.org/programs/street-beat Are there any other good shows out there? I love it when people upload Stretch & Bobbito to YT, but are there some other recommended regular shoes that I can stream? Tonight's show from Blueprint has been excellent. submitted by /u/ions82 [link] [comments] |
