[DISCUSSION] Danny Brown - uknowhatimsayin¿ (1 YEAR LATER)

Posted: 04 Oct 2020 01:13 PM PDT

U Know What I'm Sayin? (stylized as uknowhatimsayin¿) is the fifth studio album by American rapper Danny Brown. It was released on October 4, 2019, by Warp Records. The album features guest appearances from Run the Jewels, Obongjayar, JPEGMafia and Blood Orange. Executive produced by Q-Tip, with contributions by Paul White, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Standing on the Corner and JPEGMafia, the album received widespread critical acclaim, appearing on several publications' year-end lists.

Danny Brown being one of my favorite artists of all time, I'd be lying if I said this album had me from the jump. Wasn't what I was expecting off of first listen even though I very much enjoyed the singles, I came to love it though and found appreciation in the content and songs after a while. Shine and Savage Nomad first come to mind, one of my fav single sets from Danny brown with what he dropped before, absolutely love best life and dirty laundry. Combat and Theme Song are probably my favorites though. Coming from Atrocity Exhibition, it was refreshing to see Danny stepping in a more positive light with his music content, and as I've found myself relating to his music as I matured and grew myself, it was a positive experience for me and definitely helped me understand some things in my life. What do you guys think about it?

  • How has this album aged?

Alchemist - The Food Villain 10/25

Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:31 PM PDT

Alchemist just announced that his new project, The Food Villain, will be released 10/25. There were conflicting reports/suspicions that this may be a collab project with MF Doom. I have found nothing to support that claim as of yet. Does anyone have any evidence to support anything other than a solo album? This dude has been busy lately.
