How does someone even become a ghostwriter?

Posted: 06 Dec 2020 05:16 AM PST

Something I've always been curious about. Do these big labels just hear an artists music and approach them like "yeah that song you just dropped is hot and you got star potential....but you look like a fucking herb, wanna write for Cardi B"?

Anybody have some insight or know someone who ghostwrites?

Let’s talk about the Raider Klan

Posted: 06 Dec 2020 11:46 AM PST

To me, the Klan is one of the most interesting stories in recent Hip Hop. You have a rap collective that formed through the Internet. All from different areas, backgrounds and ethnicities, but they all shared a love for dark and gloomy sounds and subject matter. They were the children of acts like Three 6 Mafia, Bone Thugs n Harmony, so on and so forth.

And yet, they never really got started, I think. From SGP just being a crazy man, to Xavier Wulf in many ways getting in his own way, the group never got the recognition or accolades that OFWGKTA or the ASAP Mob did. You got guys like Denzel Curry frustrated with the work that he does with such little returns from the industry, and I think that's sad because he seems to really care.

Idk, I wish I had something more poignant to say, it just kinda sucks that they're likely to be forgotten in the annals of History as far as the early SoundCloud days of Hip Hop and being pioneers of it, really.
