Rules

Artists qualify if they're never gotten 50 or more upvotes on /r/HipHopHeads (counting features)

Formatting:

Artist - Title

Description: no character minimum but some things that might be good to include: where the rapper is from, what subgenres they might fall into, have cosigns they might have, what their influences are/who they sound like.

Example:

Aaron May - Let Go

17 year old Houston Rapper, biggest influences are J Cole and Nas.

Curtis Waters

System

Stunnin' ft. Harm Franklin

I Aint Too Sure About My Future

Nepali artist from North Carolina has been bubbling on Soundcloud for a while and blew up recently on Tik Tok with Stunnin', funky pop rap, like if Joji if was happy. He followed it up with System, an industrial anti-capitalist banger, which is an unexpected 180 that he pulls off pretty well

Pigeons & Planes Interview

Sematary

Sematary is like if you took xanax era chief keef where he was doing his weird poorly mixed warbly autotuned sing rapping thing, made the aesthetic white trash and cop hating, and made the production trap beats that use warped black metal samples. He's not for everyone but something about it just works for me.

Hogs

Ak47

Red Mist

Wax Mustang

POWERBALL
MONICA
BONES

Wax Mustang is a hip hop artist from New Zealand, he quit his job as a carpet salesman to pursue his dream in music after saving some money and decided to give it a year, as the window of time began getting narrower he started garnering attention from the internet.

I honestly don't know what his music falls under, it's hip-hop for sure but I don't know exactly what sub genre, perhaps alternative? it's bouncy, it's charismatic, it's confident, but at the same time it feels vulnerable as well, don't sleep.

Amir Tripp

Dark Knight (feat. Saba)

American Psycho

Red Wave

Hardball

Rapper from Chicago that received a lot of praise from some fairly notable names (DJ Booth, Lyrical Lemonade) back in 2017-2018 and just never blew up. I think he's pretty good, he's done songs with Saba, and ik how much you guys love him, so check out Amir!

Im gonna be posting some Texas/southern trap. Im from Texas pretty much my whole life so I really enjoy finding up and coming rappers from the area.

Lil Loaded

6locc 6a6y

Gang Unit feat. YG

Opps On Fire

6locc 6a6y put this Dallas rapper in the spotlight and he recently has gotten features from NLE Choppa on that song, YG on the song I linked above, and also a feature from King Von. Hes a pretty generic trap rapper, but I enjoy his beat selection and I think he has a strong charismatic presence on his songs.

Lil 2z

Finally

Story Time

Puppets

Another Dallas rapper that I have been following for quite some time. I enjoy his work because it has a more personal touch to it. He tells good stories in his raps over very hard beats.

Gwapmizzle

500 ON ME

The last Dallas rapper that I'll be talking about in this post. I know him through a friend of a friend. I am not gonna lie and say everything he puts out is great, but this song goes crazy hard and should be checked out.

Lil Payne

First Day Out Freestyle

Prove Wrong

Now Ill be posting some Houston rappers. Lil Payne is a friend of mine who is still in his beginning stages of music. I genuinely enjoy his stuff and would listen to it even if he was not a friend. Prove Wrong is my personal favorite of his, but it does not have a video at this time.

Ghost Magneto RIP & BG Kenny Lou RIP

Y.K.W.T.F.G.O

F*cc Up The City

I'm The One

These rappers were associates with Maxo Kream and were on the verge of blowing up. These two Houston rappers were good friends, and released excellent music together. They both have individual work but I think their greatest songs are when they are flowing off each other. YKWTFGO is a classic trap banger, no hooks or choruses just bars for the entire track. F up the city and Im The one are more melodic trap verses and are outstanding. Unfortunately they both lost their lives in a shooting that occurred I believe int he last year. It does seem they still have vaulted music that is being released though.

Fredo Bang

Oouuh

Yo Slime

Cap A Lot

This is the last rapper I will talk about in this post. He is from Youngboy NBA's former crew in Louisiana (TBG) and recently got out of jail. Some of his songs have begun to blow up and I believe he will soon reach national success.

If anyone is interested I would be willing to do similar posts from areas such as Chicago, Florida, or the Northeastern region of the US (excluding New York).

Cartoon Ben

From the Hills

19 year old rapper/ producer from toronto, i've produced for artists such as cold hart, and smrtdeath.

influences: playboi carti, yung lean, lil tracy

Heavily recommended: If you post a song, listen to another song and comment on it. Otherwise it doesn't rly work that well.

Juice WRLD sampled my song without permission. 2 years later, I still haven't received credit.

Posted: 28 Jul 2020 03:59 PM PDT

Over 2 years ago, I found out that Juice WRLD sampled my song, "Ghost Loft - So High" from reading this Pitchfork review.

The song in question is "Scared Of Love" which appears on his debut album, "Goodbye & Good Riddance." The producer, Mitch Mula, has admitted that he sampled the master recording of my song.

https://imgur.com/a/1THLyjh

From day one, I tried many times to rectify the situation. I called and spoke to EVP at Interscope. My publisher (Sony ATV) along with legal representation, has tried numerous times to come to an agreement with Juice WRLD's attorneys, his record label (Interscope & Grade A Productions), and his publisher (BMG).

More than two years later, they still refuse to give me credit.

I'm not interested in a lawsuit. These corporations need to be held accountable. We need to enforce better practices in the music industry.

EDIT:

Wow. Thank you all for taking the time to read and comment. I truly appreciate it.

Many of you are advising to "lawyer up" and I completely understand. However, as some have mentioned, filing a suit and going to trial can be extremely difficult and costly. Cases can drag on for years and most people simply cannot afford it.

I was once told by an attorney, "Ultimately, nobody wins in a lawsuit."
