If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye (you can get more specific but that's enough imo). And then someone will respond with X, Y, and Z

You can also recommend an artist/project/scene

Example: You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats.

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

Also the more descriptive you guys are with your posts the easier it is to help you find what you want, just stating an artists name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

Look through past posts here

Posted: 15 Jun 2019 08:17 AM PDT

On this day 10 years ago, J. Cole dropped his 2nd mixtape "The Warm Up" which gave J. Cole a name in the rap game and got him signed by Jay Z.

Whats your thoughts on this tape, favorite songs and where does this tape stand in his discography?

Grammy-award winning L.A.-based producer DJ Official - signed to DJ Mustard's 10 Summers label - passed away.

Posted: 15 Jun 2019 03:43 AM PDT

https://www.instagram.com/p/BytuHCJjTzo/

if you follow music from around the Bay and LA, you probably heard some of his placements
Official started out tour DJing for Joe Moses, did some ghostproducing for Mustard later on, then eventually signed with him

due to that probably around a year ago I've been seeing his name pop up on more and more bigger placements frequently with Mustard, Suu Whoop for YG, Dead Friends for Rich The Kid, and She Bad on Cardi's record she got a Grammy for

he already been doing this for a minute, he was on the comeup so it's tragic as hell that he died just when he started to become more well-known and successful

people on IG in the comments say he got shot, which I would take with a grain of salt until someone actually related to him or his camp confirms it

edit: Joe Moses' IG seems to confirm it
