If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye (you can get more specific but that's enough imo). And then someone will respond with X, Y, and Z

You can also recommend an artist/project/scene

Example: You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats.

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

Also the more descriptive you guys are with your posts the easier it is to help you find what you want, just stating an artists name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

Look through past posts here

ALSO please check out this thread for a list of some of the most popular recommendation requests and the suggestions provided

Best Hook, Week 1 - Travis Scott

Posted: 18 Feb 2018 06:00 AM PST

Introduction: Hello r/hiphopheads, I will be running the best hook thread once a week every Sunday! This will be run very similarly to the Best Verse Threads we had a while ago, as you can see the format is almost identical to the old threads. All you have to do is just post your favorite Travis Scott hook with a link to the hook. And if you want to, you can quote the hook word for word in your comment. The comment with the most upvotes will be deemed that artists best hook! And at the end of the year we will decide the best hook of the ones we collected! This is my first time doing anything like this so any recommendations to formatting, anything else I can add etc. will be great. Also credit given to /u/Blu_Jays for the thread suggestion and /u/SidThaKid for the Travis suggestion (We love you Sid stay strong.)

Background: American rapper Travis Scott has released two studio albums, three mixtapes, four extended plays (EP) and 12 singles. In 2012, Scott signed his first major-label deal with Epic Records, before eventually signing to Kanye West's GOOD Music production wing known as Very G.O.O.D. Beats. In April 2013, it was announced he signed a recording contract with T.I.'s Grand Hustle imprint. The following years he released the mixtapes Owl Pharaoh (2013) and Days Before Rodeo (2014). Scott's debut studio album Rodeo, was released on September 4, 2015. His debut album's lead single "3500", featuring Future and 2 Chainz, peaked at number 82 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album's second single, "Antidote", peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became his highest charting single so far. Scott's second album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, was released on September 2, 2016. His second album's lead single "Pick Up the Phone", with Young Thug featuring Quavo, peaked at number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Please provide links with your votes!

Remember just because a hook may be iconic that does necessarily mean it's their best hook.

Make sure you don't post the same hook as someone else!

Voting for best hook will close 24 hours from the time this was posted

Taking suggestions for next week just DM me!
