If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye (you can get more specific but that's enough imo). And then someone will respond with X, Y, and Z

You can also recommend an artist/project/scene

Example: You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats.

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

Also the more descriptive you guys are with your posts the easier it is to help you find what you want, just stating an artists name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

Look through past posts here

ALSO please check out this thread for a list of some of the most popular recommendation requests and the suggestions provided

Went to the SZA concert in Baltimore. Show review inside.

Posted: 03 Feb 2018 06:15 PM PST

This is a makeup show because her original show was cancelled in December because she was on SNL or another late night show.

I got to the venue (Rams Head Live) around 7:15-7:30. Standing room only and space was filling up so I found a spot near the mixing booth area thing so no one could stand behind me. Im a taller guy have flat feet so I prefer to lean on shit when I stand for long periods.

The show was advertised starting at 8pm. I figured there'd be an opener but as 8 came and went, I assumed SZA would just be the only act.

I started to get antsy around 8:30-8:45. No opener, one or two times someone would walk on/across the stage eliciting cheers from the crowd. A few times ppl started chanting "SZA SZA" wanting her to come out. At this point its past 9pm and theyre still playing music but no SZA. Im not a huge concert goer and stuff like this makes me not want to go. I get you have to check audio equipment and levels and acoustics, but over an hour of waiting? Not feelin it.

Im not a SZA stan but I enjoy her music. Even if I were a bigger fan Id still be disappointed at how long it took the show to start. Ive seen People Under the Stairs twice, Ghostface and Raekwon, and went to Afropunk in 2016. Maybe because shes a newer artistshe doesnt have thelive show experience as PUTS and Ghost/Rae, but I dont like waiting, especially standing room only.

Its 9:15 now and still nothing. I dont have anything else to write so I'll update after the show...whenever it actually starts.

Edit: 10:43pm

At CVS waiting for Uber. Right after I posted SZA came out and apologized for being late. She was sick and when she started performing she wasnt hitting all the notes which is understandable.

She played the singles off Ctrl and some stuff from her mixtape and other tracks. Again Im not a SZA fan but she maintained her energy and even after her voice went, the crowd carried her.

The visuals were just a screen with stills/loops projected (like clips of Drew Barrymore and doves). The light design (not sure if thats the right terminology) was pretty basic, but I didnt expect it to be on a Flylo level.

As someone who isnt a huge SZA fan I enjoyed the show. I dont know if Id see her again (I went with my sister and her friend) but I give her credit for still performing even when sick. A woman also threw her wig on stage and SZA kept it. Shout out to the guy watching basketball on his phone as we waited for the show to start.
