[First Impressions] Joey Bada$$ - ALL AMERIKKKAN BADA$$

Posted: 07 Apr 2017 06:07 PM PDT

So we have had an entire day to listen to Joey Badass' sophomore album. Unfortunately, as everyone knows it got leaked last week and so many of us have already had time to form opinions on this album, so that being said,

What do you think of AAB?

I, for one, am enjoying it very much. It is definitely less punchy and bombastic than B4DA$$. But I think this is due to AAB very much being a concept album, and not a more straightforward release like B4DA$$ was.

Also, what do you think of the less boom-bap and more pop-flavored songs like Temptation? Personally, I find them pretty enjoyable and are probably great car songs.

FAV TRACKS: LAND OF THE FREE, TEMPTATION, DEVASTATED, Y U DON'T LOVE ME? (MISS AMERIKKKA), ROCKABYE BABY, RING THE ALARM, SUPER PREDATOR, BABYLON

LEAST FAV: None really, all at least good

8/10

Also that Eric Garner line was fucking insaane

Edit: some extra stufff

How was "A Milli" and "6 Foot 7 Foot" hits without being a generic "hit"?

Posted: 07 Apr 2017 10:29 PM PDT

Both these songs were similar to weezy's mixtape cuts, where there was just all verses and barely any song structure (i.e hooks, melody). But nonetheless were both very successful commercially and are considered classics.

Do you think artists/weezy could pull something like this now?
