[DISCUSSION] Wu-Tang Clan – Wu-Tang Iron Flag (20 Years Later)

For a group that had found a signature sound on its debut that sounded like nothing else at the time, it's weird Wu-Tang Clan's other albums do everything but return to that sound. Their subsequent albums visited string elements (Wu-Tang Forever), blaxploitation/soul atmospheres (The W) and then, 20 Years ago as of December, 18th, some sprinkles old-school hip hop. The shortest Wu-Tang album, Iron Flag tries new ideas on almost every track. Da Glock got is an example for an interesting idea, but skippable on 3rd, 4th and later listens. Chrome Wheels has a big bassline, but a weird chorus which makes for an unique charm.

Rules, Iron Flag and Radioactive (Four Assassins) are the kind of songs where its less experimental, but Uzi (Pinky Ring) shows that the sound can be great if everything finally clicks together.
