Finnish festivals are getting fucked over by hip hop artists and it's pissing people off.

So in context, compared to earlier years, Finnish festivals have been booking a lot more hip hop based artists to perform because obviously hip hop is getting more mainstream. Unfortunately this has caused a problem where there are a lot more artists cancelling their bookings because for whatever reason, hip hop artists really love no showing.

During the summer, one of the oldest festivals in Finland called Ruisrock was celebrating their 50th year and as a closure, they had booked Travis Scott to end the festival. Travis Scott had performed in Ruisrock earlier in 2016, where his show was pretty lackluster and the crowd was really not that hyped up for it. Because of that Travis said that "he will never perform in Finland again." I guess he's kept his word for it because he's no showed two times in two years in two different festivals, both times cancelling his show just a day before his performance.

Ruisrock had one day to try to find someone to replace Travis, and they booked Migos, who had a show in Belgium the same day, I think they cancelled the show in Belgium but their private jet was without a pilot or something so they no showed too. Obviously people were pissed and gave a lot of flack for Ruisrock, even though none of this was their fault.

Next up Flow Festival that is due to start this friday, first Cardi B was advertised as one of the main names, but she canceled her whole european tour earlier in July, fortunately Flow was able to book Solange on her place. Also CupcakKe canceled her performance because of overlapping gigs just today but Tommy Genesis is coming to replace her.

And last is Blockfest, solely a hip hop festival is starting to have issues with Saweetie cancelling her performance. Blockfest also has A$AP Rocky as one of the main performers and obviously he might not show up because of the whole Sweden situation, but that's obviously none of his fault when it comes to the booking of the show. There's been rumors of Lil Pump replacing him but Lil Pump had two shows booked last year in Finland but he no showed both of them.

I'd love to see these rappers perform live but I swear to god it's like playing russian roulette buying tickets, you're never fully sure who's actually going to show up.

TL;DR: Finnish festivals are booking more hip hop artists but as a result, more acts are cancelling their performances than before.

Edit: In 2016 Travis Scott flaked his Blockfest performance, he was in Ruisrock in 2017, not 2016, but he was late. He also flaked 2018 because the VMAs were at the same time. Now he no showed Ruisrock 2019. I have no clue why festivals in Finland keep booking him.
