Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? Or a question that you feel is too small to make a new thread for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows?

Ask that question in this thread.

Questions must be on topic, concise, and answerable. Answers must be a real answer that solves the question. Do not ask a question that can be covered in the resources section.

Tierra Whack tells a shocked 2 Chainz she once washed his car as a teenager

Posted: 15 Apr 2019 12:36 PM PDT

Video via 2Cool2Blog

She spoke about it before in an interview with the New York Times

Excerpt:

NYT: When did you start to find your voice?

TW: I was able to get my first job when I turned 18 at a carwash in Atlanta — a popping carwash. I washed 2 Chainz's truck, T.I.'s car, but I missed André 3000. I was able to save up enough money to buy my own laptop to record myself. That gave me the time I needed to formulate songs, figure out a sound, flows and hooks.

edit: footage is not the best quality

Charles Hamilton: "When I met Kanye West, he was sippin champagne with a white woman, he was already living 75% of the black American dream. I played [him] Pink Lavalamp and he was about to cry...with his white woman."

The hip-hop tale of Charles Hamilton is very well documented. In 2019, however he is scraping his way back into a rap scene that's changed significantly since he first emerged. I sit down with him to find out where exactly is his place within it? From his upbringing in Cleveland, to shuffling around New York, we chat about his survival instinct, his failures, triumphs, and new outlook on life. Of course, production and sampling is talked about heavy, as is the transition of him starting his own record label, Standard Sound.

Some timestamps:

19:00: "I was the first hip hop blogger period. There would be no Nah RIght, no Perez Hilton, if it wasn't for me."

20:35: On meeting Kanye for the first time: "When I met Kanye West he was sippin' champagne with a white woman, he was already living 75 % of the black American dream."

36:09: On his 2015 comeback single with Rita Ora: "It was a good song for what is was, but it missed the mark"

38:40: He discusses his publishing contract: "I didn't get paid for New York Raining, The Black Box, Hamilton, Charles OR for being on the Empire Soundtrack."
