If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: "I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye production" (you can get more specific but usually enough). And then someone will respond with recommendations X, Y, and Z.

You can also leave a top level comment recommending an artist/project/scene that you think others might like if they like X, Y, and Z.

Example: "You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats"

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

The more descriptive you guys are with your posts, the easier it is to help you find what you want. Just stating an artist's name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

[DISCUSSION] Coachella 2022

Posted: 17 Apr 2022 01:32 AM PDT

has anyone been watching much of this so far? I got caught up a bit more than I expected coming in.

Princess Nokia did an entertaining set to start the weekend, though I cannot pretend to enjoy much of her recent music. But I appreciate how outspoken she is on LGBTQI+ matters.

Slowthai was cool but I find it funny how he always seems to have something to get mad about when he's love! His ear volumes in this instance. though the highlight was Denzel coming out for psycho.

J.I.D. ROASTED his set, he's so fucking talented! He can still maintain his melodic cadences live and still be on point bar for bar naturally. And always hyped and engaged for the whole set! Earthgang played too and Denzel showed up just to watch. Did Stick with Kenny Mason twice!

Gibbs was fine but I wasn't blown away. The video feed developed this weird effect that resembled the Melt My Eyes Denzel album cover which was distracting AF! The Rabbit mascot was funny and most of his ribs against his new DJ were pretty funny too!

Same issue for Isiah's set too but he's performing his heart so far, from what I've watched.

Anyway, what have you thought so far?

[DISCUSSION] Mach-Hommy & Tha God Fahim - Dollar Menu 2 (5 Years Later)

Posted: 16 Apr 2022 10:56 PM PDT

In April 2017 Mach-Hommy and Tha God Fahim released the second mixtape in the Dollar Menu series, this time with its cover art featuring Scrooge McDuck (with the face of Lebron James) laying in a pile of money. The project is done mostly in collaboration with SadhuGold, whose beats are both rich sounding and dusty, building up the album's gold and shimmering sound. Alongside this, there are also beats from Unlucky Bastards and Camoflauge Monk. Highlights include Mach's melodic hook on 'Cook County' and the hypnotising production of 'Continental Breakfast'.

  • What are your favourite songs/verses/beats?
  • How does this sequel compare to the other Dollar Menu releases?
