I am an artist and Grammy Award winning songwriter who just put out his first debut studio album, Manifest. MANIFEST was created in a span of 10 days during lockdown but years in the making - the album covers the story of my growth, mental health, spirituality, and manifestations. Leading up to MANIFEST, I've been featured in the Coming 2 America movie with my single "I'm A King ft. Megan Thee Stallion," wrote a Black Panther graphic novel for Marvel, got a Grammy Award for co-writing Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage," helped co-write Megan Thee Stallion's "Girls In The Hood" and Mulatto's "Muwop ft. Gucci Mane", and released three EPs: RVLTN (Chapter 1): The Divided States of AmeriKKKa, RVLTN (Chapter 2): The Art of Resistance, and RVLTN (Chapter 3): The Price of Freedom. Check out my new album, MANIFEST now and let's talk! The album features Rick Ross, Benny The Butcher, Freddie Gibbs, Lecrae, and Hollyhood Bay Bay, Samples from N.E.R.D. to Khruangbin to Erykah Badu.Proof: https://i.redd.it/gwsay3yp2a871.jpg

[Discussion] Kendrick Lamar - Section.80 (10 Years Later)

Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:00 PM PDT

It's been 10 years since Kendrick Lamar first studio album Section 80 dropped.

  • How does it hold up against his major label releases?
  • How does it compare to his older discograpy in the K. Dot era?
  • How do you feel about the production on this album? Most of the producers are still in the TDE camp and people he works with today.
  • For people that listened to this at release, did you think Kendrick was capable of going on and creating projects like good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp a Butterfly?
  • In an article from 2020 - Terrace Martin Claimed Kendrick Lamar Signed To Interscope Before 'Section.80' if this is true, does it change the way you preceive the album?

  • Favorite song?

  • Favorite beat?

  • Best bars/lyrics?

  • Best feature?

[DISCUSSION] 21 Savage & Metro Boomin - Savage Mode (5 Years Later)

Posted: 01 Jul 2021 04:09 AM PDT

I didn't see any posts for the actual anniversary, so I'm making one now.

From Wikipedia: Savage Mode is a collaborative extended play by Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage and American record producer Metro Boomin. It was released on June 15, 2016. The EP was self-released. The EP received acclaim from critics, with Rolling Stone including it in its list of the 40 Best Rap Albums of 2016. A sequel album, Savage Mode II, was released on October 2, 2020 to further acclaim.

Tracklist:
1. No Advance
2. No Heart
3. X (feat. Future)
4. Savage Mode
5. Bad Guy
6. Real N*gga
7. Mad High
8. Feel It
9. Ocean Drive

Discussion:
* Where does this rank in 21's discography for you? What about Metro's?
* Favorite song? Favorite beat?
* Did Savage Mode II live up to the original?
