If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: "I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye production" (you can get more specific but usually enough). And then someone will respond with recommendations X, Y, and Z.

You can also leave a top level comment recommending an artist/project/scene that you think others might like if they like X, Y, and Z.

Example: "You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats"

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

The more descriptive you guys are with your posts, the easier it is to help you find what you want. Just stating an artist's name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

[FRESH-ish] SKI BEATZ - 24 Hour Karate School (Mos Def/Yasiin Bey version) [OG VERSION]

So if u guys don't know, David Anthony Willis AKA Ski Beatz is a professional producer, who's done beats for artists such as Jay-Z, Freddie Gibbs, etc, and not a lotta people know that in 2010 he released his first self produced studio album called 24 Hour Karate School. It was a producer album in which Ski would get a large number of artists rapping over beats he made, one of them who was massively hyped up, was Mos Def AKA Yasiin Bey.

But the reason not a lot of people happen to know about this album is because when it released a tonna people were disappointed at the fact that all content which featured Mos Def, was cut, after the album received a ton of delays. All of the content which was promoted yet cut on the official release, left people disappointed at this reworked version of the album that they expected Mos Def to be included on. The released version cut both Mos Def's intro "24 Hour Karate School Part 1", and the song "Aerials" (which Mos Def featured on), and only included the songs "Cream Of The Planet" and "Taxi" in instrumental form without lyrics, alongside a version of "Prowler 2" without Yasiin's verse (the original intro was replaced by a new song entirely which wasn't on the Mos Def version).

Then one day, 11 years later, I stumbled across this album, and felt like the only person in the world, who knew about this today, and with a lil bit of google prowess I ended up finding a really low res promotion image from like 2009 showing the original tracklist which was on the version of the album that Mos Def was included within. So I had this OG order, now I just needed the songs.

Prowler 2, Taxi and Cream Of The Planet already had their OG versions uploaded to some obscure parts of youtube so that wasnt an issue there, but with the other songs I had to find some sketchy ass websites with the other stuff, so today I have here for you the Mos Def version of an album that never got its chance 11 years later: 24 Hour Karate School (the version that was supposed to come out on March 30 instead of September 21):

Crazy to think it's already been a year, this album definitely doesn't hit the same anymore considering logic's back(Dropping BT3 Next week as-well) didn't expect him to be back this soon but I'm not complaining.

The album is still a great album and I always find my self coming back and still to this day I catch bars I missed.

Personally don't really know what my favorite song off the album is as it constantly changes but I'd say DarkPlace or DadBod.
