Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? Or a question that you feel is too small to make a new thread for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows?

Ask that question in this thread.

Questions must be on topic, concise, and answerable. Answers must be a real answer that solves the question. Do not ask a question that can be covered in the resources section.

Ageism doesn't exist in hip-hop, here are the stats to prove it

Posted: 28 Aug 2017 04:14 PM PDT

We've all heard the ageism debate. Dust-heads, golden era, old-heads.

Ageism implies that no-one can remain relevant, successful, and consistent past a certain age. We can point to outliers like Dr. Dre or Jay-Z as proof this isn't true at all, but that's qualitative data that is open to subjectivity. Quantitative data, that is the facts, figures, and statistics, is a way of proving beyond doubt that ageism doesn't exist.

So I crunched the numbers. I gathered data on sales, chart position, and critical review on 570 albums from 68 artists/groups relevant to the ageism debate, I plugged them into Excel, and I used graphs and statistical analysis tools to prove unequivocally that ageism does not exist.

Here is the full article:

http://www.bensbigblog.com.au/2017/08/by-numbers-ageism-in-hip-hop-doesnt_28.html

I've outlined my method, how I chose who to include in my data-set, the limitations of the tools I used, and I have included multiple graphs which not only look good, they help prove my point.

Give it a read if you're interested.

I'm also planning to do a few more articles that are solely based on statistics. If this is something you enjoyed or are interested in, let me know. And if it's something that you think is silly and pointless, let me know too!

Ronny J makes fun of upcoming producer for making a "Ronny J Type Beat"

Posted: 28 Aug 2017 02:05 PM PDT

Here is the tweet

So this YouTuber Seribeats made a video where he tried to replicate Ronny J's style and Ronny J responded with the above tweet.

I think that thats a really shity thing to do. He is essentially bullying kids who look up to him and want to be in the same position he is in one day. I keep seeing on this sub that the guy is a prick, but I had no idea that he was this childish.

I think that the kid he made fun of is really talented, these are my favorite videos by him
