If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye (you can get more specific but that's enough imo). And then someone will respond with X, Y, and Z

You can also recommend an artist/project/scene

Example: You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats.

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

Also the more descriptive you guys are with your posts the easier it is to help you find what you want, just stating an artists name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

Look through past posts here

ALSO please check out this thread for a list of some of the most popular recommendation requests and the suggestions provided

Viper's newest album, World Rap Star, is a welcome departure from his endless albums of zoned-out Vaporwave.

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 09:54 AM PDT

Viper the rapper has a unique approach to music. While most artists would agree that quality is more important than quantity, Viper asks, "why choose?"

He's made a name for himself on the internet by relentlessly releasing mixtapes and albums on Spotify, usually with over-the-top names and meme-quality cover artwork. The music itself, however, separates Viper from being just another meme rapper.

Vapor wave wasn't invented by Viper. Much like the greats before him, Jobs, Disney, West, they did not invent their respective crafts, but instead embraced and elevated the quality. They led by example. Viper is no stranger to leading. He's been a licensed Real Estate agent in the state of Texas for years, and knows a thing or two about selling crack cocaine to his buddies on the street.

For years, Viper has captivated millions with his slow-paced, catchy tunes, perfect for a walk on the beach or a night of heroin. He's produced classic hits, like "You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack," and "Fuck The World it Ain't Real I Bend Tha Spoon Wit My Mind."

This past week, Viper decided to change the game. Much like a late-career Jay-Z or Nas, in the twilight of his career, Viper has decided to release an album that will surely make a significant impact on the Hip Hop landscape. Viper is going for heads on his new album. I'd like to imagine him, somewhere in Houston funnelling crack into a turkey baster for quick use, hearing Lil Yachty come on the radio and slowly nodding his head. Not nodding his head from the X that just kicked in, but nodding his head that, yes, Viper is out for blood.

His new album, "World Rap Star," has all the makings of a trap classic. In territory where artists like Chief Keef and Young Thug have failed, Viper nonchalantly draws a bath and invites you over for tea. He belongs here, and he certainly knows it.

Standout tracks like "I Wanna Be With You" featuring Mexican-American Recording Artist Nolan showcase that Viper has love for more than just drugs and his street buddies. He croons, "Cash everywhere, sitting all in my hand. Got me feeling like I'm the man, sitting next to contraband." It's clear that the success and fame has become a burden, and with the rest of the world saying that he's the man, all he wants is his one true love to feel the same way. He's also sitting next to drugs.

In possibly his biggest departure from Vapor wave yet, the song "The World's Top Enemies" uses a fantastically chill, old-school hip hop beat. Reminiscent of sitting on a beautiful beach in Hawaii, the blue waters running up and down the shoreline, as Viper's pectorals pulsate and expand, he throws stacks of hundred dollar bills into the wind. He doesn't need that money back. "Cash everywhere, got me flexing my muscles," he states humbly.

If you're looking for a great end-of-Summer album, Dr. Viper has just the prescription. "World Rap Star," Viper's finest work yet, is sure to be the topic of every water cooler and crack pipe across the country. Get your copy here: https://soundcloud.com/thecrayfishtribe/sets/viper-world-rap-star
