[First Impressions] ThunderCat - Drunk

Posted: 25 Feb 2017 06:48 AM PST

I am really enjoying this album, although it isn't perfect. For me, it kinda (and only kinda) outstays it's welcome being 51 minutes long and having a number of tracks that are 30 second - 1 minute snips. But, if it wasn't 23 tracks long we wouldn't get that sweet fucking vinyl that I'm 100% getting.

FAV TRACKS: Most of them?

LEAST FAV: The 30 second songs, I guess, and Drink Dat took some spins because Wiz's verse is different from the rest of the album.

[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Stormzy - Gang Signs & Prayer

Posted: 25 Feb 2017 07:07 AM PST

This was posted last night but because it was posted at 12AM in the U.K. last night it only got 5 comments (if only people waited until a busier time to post these threads instead of trying to be first as soon as 24 hours are up).

First things first, I'm not a huge Stormzy fan. I feel like there's a lot of better U.K. artists out there personally. Still, I went into this with an open mind and I'm happy I checked the album out.

Shut Up was my favourite Stormzy track (like a lot of people) but the first track "First Things First" might just be my new favourite Stormzy track. And an argument could be made for a couple other tracks on here. The production on the album is solid and I can see myself going back to a few tracks.

"Mr Skeng" is damn near perfect too. That beat along with Stormzy's flow is great. I'm also happy to see Wretch 32 on here but I just wish it had have been a full track where they had a verse each and maybe traded bars for the third verse to end the track (or even get Avelino on there with Wretch).

I love the fact that a portion of the album is tailored to the mainstream audience yet there's also a good amount of tracks where Stormzy is going off.

Favourite tracks: First Things First, Mr Skeng, 100 Bags, Don't Cry For Me, Lay Me Bare (excluding Shut Up because it's been out for almost 2 years).

What does everyone else think of the album so far?

Most anticipated unreleased track?

Posted: 25 Feb 2017 05:40 PM PST

So many artists have unreleased tracks that they had snippets leaked or samples uploaded (ex. Kendrick ITS ALIVE Beats commercial, Big Sean ft Future track, Justin Bieber IDFWU, etc). Just curious as to what your most anticipated ones are? Leave links and let me know
