| [RATE ANNOUNCEMENT] HHH 2022 Halftime Rate Announcement, Pt. 1: The Fourth Spot Posted: 17 Jun 2022 08:23 AM PDT 2022 is almost halfway though and to bring some substance to the eventual discussions about the best album this semester (and also for the year-end lists), I got the permission to host a rate that includes some of the biggest releases of the last months. Three albums will for sure be included, for the fourth album I'd like to have a vote (link at the end of the post). Polls will be closed Wednesday, 06/22/22 on 6 pm EST. The three sure spots are (in order of their release):
All these were no-brainers due to the high reputation of the artists and the delivered quality. For the forth spot, I would have included today's surprise Drake album but there was barely any rapping on it. Instead, the forth spot shall go to one of these seven contenders:

It was released on June 23, 2017, through Blacksmith Records and Def Jam Recordings. Featuring an avant-garde style that leans toward electronic club music genres such as house and Detroit techno, it contains production work from Christian Rich, Zack Sekoff, Sophie, Ray Brady, Jimmy Edgar, GTA, Justin Vernon and Flume, among others; as well as vocal contributions from a variety of artists including Kilo Kish, Kendrick Lamar, Juicy J, Ty Dolla Sign, Damon Albarn, Ray J, ASAP Rocky and Kučka." My favorite Vince album by far, still regularly listening through the whole album. The really unique production from SOPHIE (RIP) and others throughout feels incredibly forward-thinking, and I feel like this album introduced some of the sounds that would become prevalent in hyper pop to a wider audience.
