Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? Or a question that you feel is too small to make a new thread for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows?

Ask that question in this thread.

Questions must be on topic, concise, and answerable. Answers must be a real answer that solves the question. Do not ask a question that can be covered in the resources section.

Compton rap pioneer Tweedy Bird Loc has passed away.

Posted: 06 Apr 2020 01:40 PM PDT

Confirmed by DJ Battlecat via Instagram:

LORD HELP US THROUGH THESES TRYING TIMES. REST IN PEACE . For those who know me this man is responsible for bringing everyone together to create banging on wax movement πŸ™πŸΏπŸ‘ˆπŸΏ it's how my career started with @bigqluso & @ogdomino & meeting @snoopdogg at the same time through @c.d.o.c πŸ™πŸΏπŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ˜’man God I'm still forever Grateful to all you've Done & will ever do when I'm deserving of you grace and mercy in Jesus name amen πŸ™πŸΏ . Cause of death appears to be heart attack.

Tweedy Bird Loc was a solo artist, but is probably best known for organizing and co-producing Bloods & Crips, a collective of actual gang members that came together in response to studio gangsters making gangster rap in the early '90s. Bloods & Crips released a string of albums and helped establish the careers of a number of hip-hop artists, most notably DJ Battlecat, Domino & Young Soldierz. He was also pretty well-known for taking shots at just about any rapper whether the beef was personal or not. He was a friend of Eazy-E growing up and a member of the same gang (Kelly Park), but dissed E because he wouldn't sign him to Ruthless Records.

Tweedy Bird Loc Albums:

Music Videos:

Singles:

Diss Songs:

Notable Responses:

Dr. Dre - "Smokin' Blunts & Drankin' Tanqueray":

"I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat"

You's a punk-ass nigga

MC Ren - "One False Move":

Niggas makin' records sellin' two copies

Tryin' to fuck with me because your rap's sloppy

Now back in your cage, your wings are short

You tall, dirty motherfucker, stick to basketball courts

Non-album Songs & Features:

  • Tweedy Bird Loc (f. Domino & Underworld Connection) - "Comin' Out The Cage" (Remix) (First appearance of Genuine Draft of Bloods & Crips as Domino)
  • Nini X (f. Big Stretch, Big Wy, Gin, Lil Stretch, Tweedy Bird Loc) - "Please Mr. Kronik"
  • Nini X (f. Don Dadda Freeze, J-Ill, Tweedy Bird Loc & Wanted Niggas) - "Ghetto Ass Shit"
  • Fo' Clips Eclipse (f. Tweedy Bird Loc) - "Can You Feel Me"
  • Young Soldierz (f. Freeze, Big Stretch, Flip, Dog, Keystone, Popps & Tweedy Bird) - "East Side, West Side" (Remix of "Eastside-Westside" from Murder Was The Case (The Soundtrack))

[OC]: An Eminem's guide to Hip-Hop inspired by his custom made Album Art Ts worn throughout his career.

Posted: 06 Apr 2020 01:13 AM PDT

Quarantine made me do it. So this past week I went through the internet to listen to all the albums that Em wear on his tees. And then I also started manually documenting every single one of them with a picture of Em wearing and linking the official album too for anyone who wants to give it a spin.I hope you guys enjoy this collection.

"You know, this was called the Rapture tour. But originally, it was going to be called the 'Rap Shirt' tour. I'ma tell you why," says Em, tapping his current shirt of choice - Masta Ace's Slaughterhouse. "There's a reason I do this, every single night on stage man. Hopefully, some of ya'll might go buy their albums. Might go look em' up. Maybe you don't know who Masta Ace was, or Kool G Rap. I feel like you need to know because what they did for hip-hop is so fu\king incredible because they made it go to that next level. These are the rappers that inspired me, man. On some real shit." - Eminem*

A glimpse of his own cassette collection. Some very rare underground pieces.
