Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? Or a question that you feel is too small to make a new thread for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows?

Ask that question in this thread.

Questions must be on topic, concise, and answerable. Answers must be a real answer that solves the question. Do not ask a question that can be covered in the resources section.

After six years I finally finished my hiphop illustrative card deck. I want to share it with you all and say thanks.

Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:50 PM PST

Hey everyone, in the past six years you've probably seen me around on r/hiphopimages or r/freshalbumart sharing my work, or the occasional times I actually stop lurking and post here. I want to give a big thanks to all of the content that is posted here (this includes the shitposting). It's helped me find inspiration and links to new music. Six years ago when I was a junior in college, I created my first hiphop illustrations of Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West. After I finished ten of them, I thought it would be sick if I made three more and turned them into a card deck! So I did that which you can see here. These were hand printed and cut (fun senior project). At this point I knew that I wanted to create a full 52 card deck. I just didn't know it would be five years later lol.

This has kind of been my passion project after work. I'll spend a few hours here and there, and some weekends working on this. It's not my full-time job, but I just enjoy creating and this has been an outlet for me.

Here's a link to the full deck:

Breakdown Cards

I need to give a very large shoutout to my friend Parker Gibson whom I collaborated with on the Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs, and Pusha T piece. As well as a shout out to Frawgsy for working on the Ski Mask piece with me. These are both talented artists worth following.

Also I do have these for sale on my site Brandonspahn.com, but I don't want to make this post focused on that. I'm just really proud of this work as I've spent between 600-800 hours of my life working on it, and I wanted to share this link in case someone is interested. I set up a promo code for Reddit though, if you use "Reddit", you'll save 10%. I talked with the mods to make sure that this was okay to post as well. If you'd like to see more of my work or more detailed shots of the art, my instagram is https://www.instagram.com/brandonspahnart/.

Anyways thanks again for this subreddit, it's the only one I've been active on for all eight years of my Redditing. Keep up the Drake memes and Brockhampton shitposts.

Denzel Curry announces A$AP Mob will be performing at next year's Zeltron Worldwide wrestling-themed concert

Posted: 04 Nov 2019 08:21 AM PST

Last year he had Flatbush Zombies, and this year he had Joey Bada$$. I was at the show last night, and at the end he said that next year A$AP Mob would be against him in the ring.

The concert last night was one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to! I've never been a wrestling fan, but it was really entertaining. Using a wrestling ring as a stage makes for a really dope experience. I can't wait until they post some of the videos from the set.

Edit: Here's a picture of the stage and here's one from after the show.

Edit 2: Apparently he's going to turn this into a series and do a few installments around the U.S. next year. Source

Also, shoutout to the dudes that I met before the show for helping me get backstage. I waited around a little while and asked Denzel if he'd sign my record real quick, and he was like "Yeah one minute" and right after he walked away a security guard started asking me a bunch of questions about how I got back there lmao. She kicked us out and then we made it back there again somehow, but I wasn't trying to be too pushy about asking him because I'm not trying to be "that guy" anymore than I already was at that point lol. One of my friends asked a girl that was part of the crew if she could take the record to him (for the 2nd time that night- she was pissed lmao) and she came back with it unsigned. But oh well at least I got a good story out of it.

Thanks again to Denzel and Joey for the awesome show- I had a blast!

Personally, I was pleased by her last album, Room 25, but I know that some people didn't care for low energy of the project. Relative to Telefone, this is a pretty quick turnaround from Noname. What do you guys expect from her next album?

Day N Vegas Festival News

Posted: 04 Nov 2019 12:45 AM PST

So i'm quickly putting this together on my phone before bed to let you all know what was announced at the festival this weekend.

As was already posted, J Cole announce his "The Fall Off" 2020 album on friday.

Ab-Soul announced a new album is coming in 2020 as well.

Isaiah Rashad said his album is on the way (like he has been saying for a while). But he did perform 2 songs off the new album. The first had a mellow, chill vibe. The second was a banger you would play at a party. Sadly, i was too caught up in the moment to remember to record.

Kendrick closed out his set by telling the audience to remember these words, "stay tuned for next year." I understand this subreddit's rules on rumors so im not going to say it's an album or anything. Just restating what Kendrick said.

That's all i have at the moment. I'll ask my friends if they got any clips of the isaiah songs and post them if they do.
