Every Wednesday we will discuss an album from our Essential Albums list Last Time: Mobb Deep - The Infamous This Week: Naughty by Nature - Poverty's Paradise Stream/Purchase Spotify iTunes Google Play Singles Clap Yo Hands Craziest Feel Me Flow Background/Description (courtesy of allmusic.com) Description Poverty's Paradise is the fourth album from Naughty by Nature, released on May 30, 1995 as their final album under Tommy Boy Records. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. A single released from the album, "Feel Me Flow", achieved major success, peaking at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100, two other singles "Craziest" and "Clap Yo Hands, achieved minor success, the former peaking at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100. At the Grammy Awards of 1996 it won the award for Best Rap Album, which was a new category that year. Guidelines This is an open thread for you to share your thoughts on the album. Favorite track? Personally I thought this was a fantastic album; only parts I wasn't too keen on were Era and the hook on Respect My Gun.
