Hey hey. The New FM here, following up on our post from three weeks ago. I feel like a bit of a jerkstore after the delayed follow-up, but we needed to find our bearings after the unexpected love from you all. It goes without saying that we received amazing feedback about our concept. Thanks to you guys, we more than tripled our track uploads from ~200 to ~700.

For those not familiar with our site, we guarantee exposure for artists by randomizing music plays through a radio and then utilize the crowd to find the top-voted music. We wanna empower independent artists and let them focus on their music while also delivering quality jams to listeners.

Anyway, I'll get to the point. We'd like to crowd source our next features/improvements with the listeners & artists here. We won't pretend like we know all of the answers to our issues, so we hope we can reach out to y'all and figure things out. We have no idea if this will work, but hey, let's give it a shot. We read through all of your posts and summarized our next steps below. We'd love to hear anything else you'd like to see included.

Artist Account Dashboard

Inclusion of helpful, easily consumable metrics on how your music is doing -- # of listens, upvotes, purchase link clicks, etc.

Mobile

We focused on desktop first as artists are primarily uploading their music from desktop. Mobile is a priority on our list and we'll add it soon.

Track Purchases & Cloud Player

In order to run our site and help artists earn money, we're considering selling tracks and offering cloud space to users for their purchased music. We understand track downloads are getting less popular as subscription services get more popular. But Bandcamp continues to prove that fans want to own music. Because we would be offering artists 75-80% of the sales, we believe most of our artists would price their music at the 50-cent-per-track range, much less than what you typically see on other services.
This is not to say we won't offer a subscription service. Once we get more music in our catalog, we'll take a look at subscriptions.

Artist Pages

Access to entire music catalog, social media pages, merchandise links, concert links, etc.

Downvote Capability

Our original designs had upvote & downvote capability. But we thought the heart/upvote button was simpler for the user. After reading some comments, is the inclusion of a downvote button preferred by listeners?

Other improvements - in no particular order of priority

User accounts. Password recovery, account deletion, listener like history, social, etc.
Search functionality (for track titles & artists)
Cover/album art
Top Music - include toggle for 3D Carousel or List View.
The Top Music carousel needs to be tweaked in how it moves when you click Next & Previous Track.
Some improved security measures
Inclusion of more genres
Genre preference selector at sign-up
Genre preference selector for the new FM
Inclusion of more filters beyond Genre. Location of listeners, location of artists seem to be the logical ones to build.
Color-blind friendliness.
Improve instructions on "how to use this site"
Improvement of keeping our Top Music fresh -- replacing old music with newer music.
