Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd

continuing our RnB detour for a couple weeks.

I'll allow features because Weeknd features are basically his tracks (sorry I didn't think of doing this for T-Pain last time...)

Here's how this works:

  • Post an individual song by the artist (feature verses don't count unless the feature is the sole performing artist i.e. Drake on "For Free" or Kendrick on "Never Catch Me").

  • The thread will be put into contest mode (randomized comment order).

  • Upvote the songs you like.

  • Please don't downvote!

  • Search/use ctrl+f to see if anyone posted the song already.

  • Try to limit yourself to posting one or two songs.

  • Please post a link with your song.

  • The 10 songs with the most upvotes will be HHH Top Ten.

  • Have fun!

And yes, I make coherent arguments for all of Jay's records, including Kingdom Come, Blueprint 2, and Magna Carta, Holy Grail. I even throw "Unplugged" into the mix. Have a read and let me know what you think.

I haven't been able to find the full interview but it's in the November 2011 issue of XXL. Someone had uploaded it but the link is dead now.

This is a really cool interview, this is actually where the Nas sample on "48" comes from.

Tyler's 2 favorite Nas albums are God's Son and Street's Disciple.

Really recommend checking out the interview. Cool to see them interact. Although I'm pretty sure Tyler and Nas are switched during the part where they talk about cheese:

Nas: Do you like cheese?

Tyler, the Creator: I love cheese.

Nas: Cheddar or Swiss?

Tyler, the Creator: Swiss. Cheddar for the most of my life. Today, it's Swiss.

Nas: Sick. That's cool. I love fuckin' cheddar. That's my shit.
