Full refund on kanye concert

Posted: 20 Nov 2016 01:34 PM PST

This will probably get buried but i just want to let anyone know that went to this concert (or planning to go on any other dates for this tour) that ticketmaster gave a full refund with no questions asked. If you went to this concert you should contact ticketmaster immediately and get your full refund before it is too late!

EDIT: Ticketmaster just sent a mass email saying everyone will get a full refund, EVEN if they don't contact ticketmaster! Also Kanye is not canceling all shows to my knowledge, i just want people to know if kanye tries to pull this off at another show that there is a way to get your money back.

Best Beats 2.0, Week 17 - Flying Lotus

Posted: 20 Nov 2016 11:39 AM PST

Adult Swim's very own Flying Lotus is this week's best beats!

Background: Los Angeles resident Steven Ellison, better known as Flying Lotus, is a producer of electronic music and hip-hop beats, known for his abstract and sometimes jazz-tinted style. Flying Lotus, often abbreviated to FlyLo, is the founder and leader of the Brainfeeder collective, which includes such artists as Samiyam, Teebs and Daedelus. He is also often seen as being at the forefront of the new wave of beatmakers and musicians who fuse IDM and electronica with hip-hop and trip-hop. Flying Lotus released his first album, 1983 on Plug Research Records in 2006. His June 2008 release, Los Angeles, released on Warp with cover art designed by Build & Timothy Saccenti, was released to positive critical reviews. His third album, Cosmogramma, was released on Warp in 2010 to further critical acclaim. His fourth album, Until the Quiet Comes, has been released through Warp in October 2012. As well as serious album work, remixes and production for artists such as Blu, Hodgy Beats, Gonjasufi, Oddisee and John Robinson, FlyLo is also responsible for many of the musical loops heard during the 'bumps' on Adult Swim, as well as being a casual filmmaker. Being the great-nephew of Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane's wife, Ellison comes from a musical heritage about which he says: "My greatest influences are my family, I'm lucky to have been around so many accomplished musicians." When discussing the sources of his imagination and inspiration, he explains that : "I see these tracks as little short films that play in my head… I have this beautiful lemon tree in my backyard, and on a sunny day the light shines through. Little things like that inspire me."

Best Verse, Week 87 - Kodak Black

Posted: 20 Nov 2016 11:45 AM PST

The finnesse kid is this week's best verse!

Background: Octave was born on June 11, 1997 in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he was also raised. His parents were immigrants from Haiti. Octave was raised by his mother in Golden Acres, a public housing project in Pompano Beach.

From the age of six, Octave used the nickname "Black". He also used the nickname "Lil' Black". When he signed up for Instagram he chose the username "Kodak Black". This was the stage name he used when he began rapping, and a stage name favored by his fans.

In 2009, at age 12, Kodak Black joined a rap group called "Brutal Yungenz", under his first official stage name "J-Black". He then joined a local rap group called "The Kolyons". In December 2013, Kodak Black released the mixtape Project Baby, followed in December 2014 with the mixtape "Heart of the Projects", and in December 2015 with the mixtape Institution.

In October 2015, Canadian rapper Drake posted a video of himself dancing to one of Kodak Black's singles "Skrt", which helped Kodak Black gain popularity. That same month, Kodak Black signed a deal with Atlantic Records. In May 2016, Kodak Black and rapper and label-mate Lil Uzi Vert announced their intention to partner for a national tour called the "Parental Advisory Tour", however, Kodak Black did not appear on the tour.

In May 2016, Kodak Black was featured on French Montana's single "Lockjaw", from French Montana's twenty first mixtape MC4, which reached a peak position of 23 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In August 2016, Kodak Black's single Skrt reached number 10 on Billboard's "Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles" chart. In June 2016, he released his fourth mixtape, Lil B.I.G. Pac, which became his first mixtape to chart on Billboard, reaching number 49 on the "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums" chart and number 18 on the Heatseakers Albums chart.

In June 2016, Kodak Black was named one of XXL Magazine's "2016 Freshman Class".

In August 2016, Kodak Black was criticized when a studio session video was released showing him ridiculing dark-skinned black women with lyrics which implied those women were less attractive than light-skinned black women. While in jail in 2016, he released the song "Can I".
