I built a feed that automatically pulls the latest rap from Spotify’s New Releases Posted: 14 Jan 2020 09:06 AM PST mods: this isn't some random playlist, i wrote a program that filters out the rap from Spotify's New Releases feed into a separate auto-updating playlist. i made it a playlist so it's easier to listen to, vs putting it on a random app/website no one will visit. i totally understand why yall have a "no playlist" policy though, thanks for keeping this sub enjoyable — Like many of yall, I need a fresh rap song every few hours to help me forget my problems. I love the discussion on this subreddit but I wanted a better way to listen to tracks besides opening links one by one…something like a "play" button that goes through all the new stuff. That's why I made Rap Daily: it's the Spotify New Releases feed, but filtered out to just show rap. It updates automatically every day, so every time you check it you'll see the latest New Releases for rap at the top. I usually put it on until it hits something I've heard before and add the stuff I liked to my library. It's been great for keeping up with rap, though I still come to this sub every day to see people's reactions to stuff. There are some limitations but I'll leave it in a comment to keep this short—check it out and let me know what you think! [AMA] I just became the first rapper from my county to be verified on Instagram with less than 2,000 followers and now I am at 51,000 followers Posted: 15 Jan 2020 12:12 AM PST I am a HipHop/dancehall rapper from Kisumu, Kenya with at least 10 songs on my YouTube channel and recently I got verified on both Facebook and Instagram at a time when my Instagram was only having at least 2,000 followers and receiving only 50 likes on a single post. Two days after I was verified on Instagram I had my Facebook page also verified and it is at this time that I started receiving very many followers at once and message requests kept coming to my DM asking me how I got verified with very few followers. Well, it is no rocket science or magic! I recently went for a TV interview and they asked me the same question and I still had no answer apart from 'my work speaks for itself' until now that people have started following me and even my YouTube videos have started getting thousands of views. I am now at 1239 subscribers from 432 subscribers last week. I released a new song yesterday due to excitement and need to connect more with those who are already showing love and support to my music and the song is titled 'Daima Mjinga' a dancehall oriented rap song done in my native language Luo. Forget about the language and just dance to the beat and enjoy the flow! I am very grateful to everyone who has decided to support me in this journey coz I started doing music in 2013 and my first ever music video 'International Local' never even garnered 1,000 views until now in 2020 I am past 5,000 views and that really means a lot to me coz now I know that everything in life just takes time. I have been recently and in the past featured in great African magazines, newspapers and blogs includingAfricaCOM, Soundcity, Ghafla, Pulse Live and many more. In the past I also got featured in America's The Hype Magazine and The Star I will be responding to all questions here on reddit today as I have dedicated this single day for it. Thank you all and keep supporting and showing love to Gabiro Mtu Necessary! submitted by /u/gabirodahiphop [link] [comments] |
