Ok guys so it seems pretty likely that the first single for Culture 2 is gonna drop this Friday.

First of all Offset told paparazzi back in June that Culture 2 would drop in October and this is the last weekend left of October. In this interview with MTV Quavo says "something big" is happening on the anniversary of Culture (January 27). I think he meant either October 27 (9 month anniversary which would hold up with what Offset said) or the 1 year (January 27).

If Culture 2 is going to drop on the one year anniversary, then I expect we're going to get the first single this Friday. This more closely follows what Takeoff and Quavo have been saying this month on twitter -- Quavo: Bout to Drop The Single Off C U L T U R E 2 soon.... (October 14) Takeoff: New Music Dropping Soon!! Stay Alert 🚨!! 👁 (October 15)

Overall, Migos have been hyping up the project a lot recently with publicity and such and the hype behind Culture has died down a lot so it's the perfect time for them to rebuild hype for Culture II by dropping a hot single.

By The Numbers: 50 Cent didn't kill New York hip-hop, but Kanye West and Ebro did

Everyone has been talking lately (well, Ebro, 50and Budden) about who or what killed New York hip-hop, so I decided to have a look at the statistics and facts. I gathered data from 78 New York and NJ artists and groups who were popular during 1990-2017, and I analysed their discographies and careers (1400 singles, 500 albums), ran some tests, and tried to work out who or what contributed the most to the downturn in NY hip-hop during the mid-2000s.

I managed to prove statistically that it wasn't 50 Cent, and his rivals didn't suffer as much of a downturn as we actually think (except for Ja Rule of course). Instead, it certainly appears that Kanye contributed heavily to it, inadvertently of course, when he defeated Curtis during their sales battle in 2007.
