[RATE REMINDER] The Lost to Macklemore Rate is due in one week! (February 26)

Hello r/HHH! I just wanted to remind you that there's only one week left to send your scores for the "Lost to Macklemore" rate (the name is just a bit I promise, please funnel any additional discourse about Macklemore or the Grammy's in your ballots <3). Scores will be due on Saturday, February 26, but if you do need an extension, feel free to PM me!

Here's the announcement post if you need instructions on how to submit, here's an empty ballot if you're familiar with the songs already. If you need a refresher on any of the albums, I'm planning on hosting some group album listening parties on Beatsense at around 6pm ET so feel free to join those as well:

  • Wednesday, February 23: good kid, m.A.A.d city & Magna Carta...Holy Grail
  • Thursday, February 24: Nothing Was The Same & Yeezus

Here are some stats about where the results currently stand:

  • Number of Participants: 42
  • Average Score: 7.425
  • Average Controversy Score: 1.777
  • Fun fact: these are both collabs:
    • Least Controversial: 0.778
    • Most Controversial: 2.412
  • There's 4 songs currently slated to enter the Hall of Fame, although there's a few on the border of doing so... make sure to submit!!

That's pretty much it from me. Also, small reminders to please fill out the "Username" spot yourself and that you're allowed to use an 11 on your favorite song. Other than that, I will see you all for the reveal on March 4-6!

[DISCUSSION] what are you favorite hip hop books? (biographies, behind the scenes, cover art, and archives)

Posted: 19 Feb 2022 03:14 PM PST

in the market for some dope books. looking for an archive (something with hundreds, thousands of rap albums) in one book. think those punk rock archives that list the artist, cover, small review and date etc.hopefully mods don't take this down. this should be a nice discussion :)
