Who’s the 1st rapper you personally considered the GOAT?

Posted: 15 Feb 2020 04:21 PM PST

Not opinions from who you heard from others but when you started listening to this hip hop who was the 1st rapper you thought "yeah this the greatest ever, bro."

For me it was DMX, In 1998 when I 1st heard "Ruff Ryders Anthem," 4 year old me thought "whoever this guy is, is really cool."

I’m trying to get into “better” rap and Hip-Hop, any recommendations?

Posted: 15 Feb 2020 02:16 PM PST

I'm not gonna lie to you, I enjoy me some of that autotune shit from Juice WRLD, Lil Tecca, Roddy Ricch, Gunna, DaBaby etc.

BUT

I want to listen to some different stuff. I love J. Cole and Kendrick, but that's like the limit I've had with anything even slightly out of the mainstream. To Pimp a Butterfly was amazing, and Friday Night Lights is easily my favorite mixtape I've ever heard in my limited experience(possibly unpopular opinion).

Any recommendations? I've listened to popular old stuff like Eazy-E, Biggie, Snoop, 2pac, Wu-Tang and others but I don't really like it other than Biggie. Kanye's stuff from 2012 and before really hooked me as well. Y'all know way more than me, for sure.
