If y'all remember we've done [HYPE WEEK] a bunch of times.

Previous weeks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. If someone wants to make a Spotify playlist of everything that's been posted so far I can add it to the OP and future OPs.

Rules

Artists qualify if they're never gotten 50 or more upvotes on /r/HipHopHeads (counting features)

Formatting:

Artist - Title

Description: no character minimum but some things that might be good to include: where the rapper is from, what subgenres they might fall into, have cosigns they might have, what their influences are/who they sound like.

Example:

Aaron May - Let Go

17 year old Houston Rapper, biggest influences are J Cole and Nas.

The highest upvoted songs might be collected for a playlist or something.

Heavily recommended: If you post a song, listen to another song and comment on it. Otherwise it doesn't rly work that well.

Shootergang Kony - off the dribble

Sacramento "trap" artists who will stay unnoticed on Reddit. He's definitely a rapper who deserves to blow up outside of NorCal. He's also a member of Mozzy crew. To be honest he might be a little hard to get into if you aren't familiar with this kind of sound.

Joël - Vent (Toronto, alt-R&B, gospel influenced)

From a Pigeons & Planes Interview:

Torono artist Joël nailed that introduction with "Vent," a downtempo, left-of-center song with a charming DIY video shot in a warehouse. The song did its job—playlist placements, media coverage, and hundreds of thousands of streams. Instead of delivering a safe follow-up in the same vein, Joël returned shortly after with "Type," a jagged, skittish track patched together with swirling guitars, free-flowing vocals, and a noisy backdrop.

Kenny Mason - Hit

Upcoming Atlanta rapper. He is apparently on a Jid song that'll get released soon. He is kinda trap focused but is pretty lyrical and versatile.

ISSAM - Trap Beldi

One of the biggest new artists and innovators in Morocco and just signed the biggest record deal for an Arab artist in history.

His style is kind of a mix between Western and traditionally Moroccan sounds.

deko - PHANTASY STAR ONLINE

Dude is a producer for Migos, Gucci Mane, Ski Mask, etc. The entire tape is full of insanely hard beats and this is probably one of my favorite beats I've heard this year. It's pretty standard autotune trap, but it's done well and like I said, the production is fantastic.

Feel free to add any feedback on what could make these threads better.

P.S. there prolly won't be a new music friday tmrw im going to a wedding. here's the best i can do for last week

What's up. Just dropped an 8 track album I've been working on for the past 8 months. Had this release date lined up for about a month, and yet Kanye seems to always find a way. But hey, maybe somebody will kill the time waiting for that by listening to my stuff!
