In a recent interview with DX, Flesh was discussing his forthcoming memoir when he touched on his struggles with addiction, which ultimately led to trouble with the law.

"Bone Thugs-n-Harmony wanted to make it, but I had people coming around, bringing sherm or PCP or whatever the case may be," he explains. "I tried it when I was in California by myself. When I went back home to get the rest of the Bone guys, it was dudes in the hood that knew we were on our way out to go try to do something big, so they were like, 'Yo, yo, smoke this stuff. It'll help you. It's going to take your creativity to the next level."

"When we finally got with Eazy-E, he had his homeboys coming the studio while we're trying to work," he explains, recalling the time Bone Thugs connected with Ruthless Records back in 1993. "He had his homeboys bringing the same shit, the same type of poison. They'd say, 'Yo, smoke this. Smoke this.' And that's what really knocked me off my square. While I was in there, really trying to focus on writing, he had his homies coming to the studio, feeding us that poison. We had guys knowing we were trying to make it somewhere in our lives, and these type of people kept coming around, feeding us this type of poison. And I feel that it took me off my square."

Do you have any goats in your personal top 5 that are outside the normal rappers that people choose, or any controversial takes?

For me personally it's Dizzee Rascal. I would personally call him my favourite rapper of all time, possibly tied with DOOM. His story-telling, butter smooth flow, production (believe it or not even to this day he self-produced a lot of his work) and overall innovation are unmatched even by a lot of the top American rappers.

Obviously his debut is an absolute classic in the UK scene but his other work is nothing to sniff at either. Showtime was a super solid follow up to Boy In Da Corner and then top off the fact that both of those albums are self-produced.

His new work has been seeing noticeable improvement too post his late 2000s/early 2010s fall off. I believe that he's managed to claw his way back to the top of the pack with Raskit and E3 AF being really solid albums with some fantastic standout tracks between them (Ghost, Don't Be Dumb, God Knows, Business Man).

He's managed to prove that he's still one of the best rappers on the planet with the aforementioned Don't Be Dumb and verses like his feature on Blessed by Ocean Wisdom showcasing a talent and finesse that few other rappers can claim to match.

It's been over 24 hours. How do ya'll feel about the tape?

Personally, I think it's a solid project that further affirms how well the two collaborate. After a few listens, "Who I Want" is probably my favorite. I also love "Please" - I've never heard Baby deliver that emotionally before. Unfortunately, there were multiple tracks where Baby's vocals sounded poorly mixed and led to some loud hissing on them. Wish those vox coulda been handled better but oh well.
