Recommended If You Like Thread - May 02, 2020

If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye (you can get more specific but that's enough imo). And then someone will respond with X, Y, and Z

You can also recommend an artist/project/scene

Example: You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats.

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

Also the more descriptive you guys are with your posts the easier it is to help you find what you want, just stating an artists name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

17 year old swedish rapper Einár gets kidnapped, beaten, tortured and everything gets posted on the internet.

Don't know if this is the wrong place to post, but this was huge in Sweden and I thought it needed some recognition.

Today, photos got posted and spread in Sweden on Instagram where rapper Einár was allegedly kidnapped and tortured. (Won't post the pictures here, NSFW and illegal to spread in Sweden)

5 hours later Einár posts a video on Instagram where he says: "Yo yo yo Instagram whats up. I have one thing to say to you all; everyone out there can get kidnapped, everyone out there can get beaten. But I'm good, I'm alive, noone can do what I do, so I'm going to continue as long as I still stand." You can probably see how big of a fuck you this is to his haters and kidnappers.

Swedish police have also released a statement regarding this, but says that Einár does not want to talk to them about it.

Some say this was a publicity stunt for his new album dropping soon but this seemed too brutal, and mad respect if it isn't. What do you all think?

EDIT: On a personal note some of the shit people are saying in this thread is mad lame. Regardless of what you think of Kodak, any American regardless of what crime they are accused of is entitled to humane treatment. You shouldn't be rooting or denying the fact that hundreds or thousands of prisoners will face the torture and abuse Kodak is allegeding, denying or encouraging it makes you look stupid and ignorant.

10 years ago, Ruben Slikk released the album King Astroslikk The Magnificent. The album was very important for internet rap in 2010. It was the first project from Metro Zu (Ruben Slikk's collective) to really pop off. The influence of this project and group is still seen today, as Metro Zu had a key roll in the development of Bones, Yung Lean, Denzel Curry, SpaceGhostPurrp and more. Pilot Talk III is the seventh studio album by American rapper Curren$y. It was released through his own label Jet Life Recordings on April 4, 2015. It is the third release of his Pilot Talk album series. The album features guest appearances from Riff Raff, Wiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, Styles P and J. Townsend. The album was exclusively released through the Jet Life website through a pre-order pack, and will be released digitally and physically at a later date.

Pilot Talk 3 was met with generally favorable reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from critics, the album received an average score of 78, which indicates "generally favorable reviews", based on 4 reviews. Pitchfork Media's Julian Kimble wrote that, "Curren$y may not do 'new,' but he is very good at what he does: riffing on cars, money, women, weed, and obscure moments from television shows." Michael Madden from Consequence of Sound said, "There's virtually nothing not to like about Pilot Talk III. Like other Curren$y releases, it makes up for its lack of revelations with a contagious joyfulness."

Kellan Miller from HipHopDX said, "While other artists are constantly on the prowl for the latest trend that will keep their names relevant, Spitta never ventures out of his own lane, and yet, his latest material never seems to spoil." Complex's B.J. Steiner said, "As the third installment of Spitta's aircraft-themed series, Pilot Talk 3 finds the NOLA sky captain delivering a familiar set of luxury rap fairytales upon which he's built a quietly impressive career."
