My Terrible, disappointing experience seeing Method Man in Ocean City, Maryland. Posted: 09 Dec 2019 02:47 PM PST Quick Context: I have been a HUGE wu-tang fan since I was in my teens. So when I found out that the Method Man was coming to Ocean City, Maryland to perform I couldn't have been anymore excited! He is a part of Hip Hop/ Music Royalty, so me and my Homie, who is also a huge fan decided to buy tickets for his concert on Friday, December 6th. Immediately, there were red flags from the start. The venue was actually a country bar with a mechanical bull called Cowboy Coast. Now, nothing wrong with getting a lil yee yee, but it was definitely the last venue I would expect method man to perform at. Also, before we entered they were patting down everyone thoroughly which included getting my junk grabbed (thanks for that), I understand its to keep us safe but come on now. Anyway, we're inside and it's pretty packed. Doors opened around 8? 9ish Not sure but we got there at 9:30. On stage, there is a DJ trying his best to keep the crowd hyped saying "Yall ready for method man to come out!!!" and everyone was really genuinely, really excited. The crowd was a mix of a lot of old heads and beautiful women but everyone was generally hyped to see Method Man, and that's when it starts to get BAD. Turns out, my homie's fiancé texted him saying that Method man was actually at a very fancy restaurant still eating and hanging out. Now that wasn't a big deal but by that time it was 10:30 and after the 3rd "method man will out here soon", things were getting a little annoying. On stage, a bunch of random groupies no one gives a shit about started dancing on stage with the DJ hyping it up. They also brought a bunch of the ladies in the crowd on stage which is when it REALLLY starts to get bad. Good god, seeing a bunch of older white ladies try to twerk on stage at a method man concert in a country ass bar is something I never expected to write in a full sentence. Now you're thinking, where is the Method Man? And apparently nobody fuckin knows! By this time its 11:30 and we have been waiting for 2 hours, mind you there is no openers or nothing, just random women dancing on stage while the DJ blasts Thotiana in a room full of mostly Old School Hip Hop heads. But finally, the Method Man comes out at 11:45 and that's when it really gets ugly. Method Man is clearly shitfaced, no introduction or anything just walks on stage out of nowhere and starts yelling and screaming shit that I have no idea is about. He keeps telling us to check out the ladies on stage and yells at them to dance and shake their asses. By then we've had enough, so we cut our losses and dip. When we got back to his place, one of his facebook friends who was at the venue reported that Method Man had said "If you paid money to see me perform tonight, you just wasted your money". I'm not even angry, I am just really disappointed. As someone of his caliber I expected some professionalism, I understand its a YEE YEE ass bar on the eastern shore but he really let a lot of people down who were excited to see him. Moral of the story, never meet your idols. Edit: TL:DR; Went to a method man concert, he showed up almost two and a half hours late, was shit faced and told us if we expected him to perform, we just wasted our money. Not mad, just disappointed. Edit 2: turns out that it was deceptive marketing by the promotion company , people have been saying if they don't get a full refund then they'll dispute the charges with their credit card companies , crazy.
