FAQ:

Q: Why is Gunna #2? I remember reading he beat the Weeknd?

A: Gunna won the more coveted Billboard 200 #1. When people say that an album went #1, they're referring to the Billboard 200. The Billboard 200 doesn't release actual sales numbers for most releases like HDD does. HDD and Billboard 200 are both industry standards. HDD gave Gunna 2k more sales and the Weeknd 6k more sales, so the Weeknd ended up outselling Gunna for HDD's chart. We aren't going to switch to using the Billboard 200 just for the two top results. HDD is better for comparing across weeks because they give more sales information.

Q: Deluxe's are on here? How does that work?

A: It's just the sales for the album in that week. Counts all the sales/streaming done including songs on original album in the week that the deluxe dropped. Technically not a first week but interesting to look at (to me) so they're included.

A: Only albums that make the top 50 in sales+streaming for their debut week are counted

Q: Why do some albums show exact sales numbers while others do not?

A: The albums that do not show exact numbers are the ones that have had sales corrections from Billboard

Midway through the summer of 2017, Mach-Hommy and Tha God Fahim released the third instalment of their Dollar Menu series, where the two once again traded verses in another addition to the Dump catalogue. It features a very wide range of producers; with beats from Camoflauge Monk, Farma Beats, Eets, Becoming Phil, Ewonee, Ohbliv and DJ Preservation - as well as the first appearance of Nicholas Craven with the two rappers, and a track rapping over a Madlib beat. Another notable track is 'Grope Records/Duppy Media', a diss track aimed at Griselda and Daupe following a falling out between Fahim and Westside Gunn.

And congratulations on the upcoming release of your new album, The Blue Hour! Can you talk us through your writing process when making the effort?
The process of creating this album was all over the place. A lot of the songs and ideas came while my mom was battling cancer. I didn't have the time to record or work on music because I was taking care of her as well as my dad. I would jot down notes and ideas in my phone because I knew they were experiences I wanted to put into the music. After my mum passed and I had a little more time on my hands I was able to slowly get back in the studio, and when I did, the album was pretty much down from all the notes. It was just a matter of turning ideas into songs.

Are there any other overarching themes throughout the album?
Grief and navigating it.

It includes the track "Balance" which feels very personal to you and close to home. What motivated you to write this particular track?
I wrote Balance because that's what I was searching for at the time and also felt like it was something that would resonate with a lot of people.

"Beauty In The Madness" feels like a change of pace compared to "Balance". Was there any particular reason for this? That song came out of a session with P-Lo. He had been listening to Tems and referenced one of her songs that resonated with him. "Beauty in the Madness" was an idea that I'd been sitting with for a minute. I thought it would a dope concept to do overproduction with that much movement. After we wrapped it up I was able to play it for Fireboy at the Empire studio, he rocked with it, and hopped on. Nima sent that version to Wale and the rest is history.

If you're looking for a recommendation give a description/music link/artist so that other people will know what you want.

Example: "I want to hear an artist that sounds like old Kanye production" (you can get more specific but usually enough). And then someone will respond with recommendations X, Y, and Z.

You can also leave a top level comment recommending an artist/project/scene that you think others might like if they like X, Y, and Z.

Example: "You guys should check out DJ Mustard's mixtape Ketchup RIYL (recommended if you like) post-hyphy and minimalistic west coast beats"

Remember, the point of this thread is to share music, try not to post stuff that's already really popular unless it answers someone's question.

The more descriptive you guys are with your posts, the easier it is to help you find what you want. Just stating an artist's name isn't that helpful since you might only like one specific aspect of that artist's music.

For me the first thing that comes up is Vince staples. He can be funny , introspective, and very smart in most of his interviews. He interview run from 2016 -2019 was insane he drops a lot of gems as well without even trying. His music will always be great in my eyes but him as person is even better.
