Count bass D's livestream about Mr. Fantastik's identity Posted: 19 Jan 2019 10:50 AM PST Spoiler: Count says he's not Mr. Fantastik, and doesn't know who he is Breakdown of stream: Count kept things on a need to know basis which is why he didn't really address things. He DJ'd for DOOM @ Nokia Theater in 2006. Felt that people weren't that familiar with MM.. Food or Madvillainy, they were there because of Adult Swim and wanted to listen to Danger DOOM. Count said you could have fans who weren't really that interested in your stuff. Rumors went around that Count was Mr. Fantastik but says he doesn't sound like him at all. Count recalls that when KMD got dropped there weren't save KMD campaigns, same as when Subroc passed away. DOOM at that point realized people weren't there for the artist, it's whoever can draw the most noise/attention. Count goes to Atlanta to watch Bobbito DJ. Before they leave for the show, Count asks DOOM why he isn't wearing his mask. DOOM tells him people do not care about him they care about the mask. If he isn't with the mask, they will separate him from that. People come up to Count at the venue saying what's up, DOOM's standing right next to him (without mask), and they ask how it's like working with DOOM without recognizing it's him there. Count says that experience blew him away and what it means to be a public figure. This is the sheer genius and brilliance of MF DOOM. From his experience with DOOM from 2000-2006, made Count content with his popularity and ability to be sincere with people who come into contact with his music. Recalls what fans were in his stream last week, says he has a real relationship with them. People who listen to Count are his family. Count says people who are only in the stream for Mr. Fantastik, will wait until he's ready to speak about it. Wants to know why people are so caught up in who is Mr. Fantastik. Says it was just two friends in the studio having fun and he clearly doesn't want to reveal himself. People don't want to know what is dropping next, just who it is. If Count used hysteria to get fans, he would have to keep doing it to keep their ear. Ex. Soulja and Kanye. The things to get the masses attention is not what Count wants. Count doesn't care who Mr. Fantastik is because he doesn't want to be known, so why do you care?
